NJ, This just in...!

Hey Mom da Bomb!

We've got a pan (I think) to cook the brownies in as well as the oil. I just have to make it. We're working on cleaning out our food because we're leaving next week. Everything that we don't eat or take with us will be given to the Sisters so we're trying to eat all of the good stuff first.

How do you sing "I hope they call me on a mission" cowboy style? Thats a good idea for the Nosey-bagpipes! I'll have to show that to primary here and see what they think.

Thats pretty cool that you won all that stuff! You should enter more contests/drawerings! Have fun in the cold!

Hey, do you remember before I left on my mission, that you said that you'd buy some books from the missionary library(Jesus The Christ, Our Heritage, etc) for me if I wanted and I said no thanks? Is that deal still valid?

I'm not sure where I'm going still. I haven't gotten any emails or calls from president telling me where I'm going. I think I might get a call tonight though. I don't mind the biking. We have one of those pillow massager's and I just put those on my thighs when they're sore and then they're not sore any more. Me and Elder Davis are having a competition to see who goes where in the mission. We're doing it for all the missionaries not just us. We try to predict who gets transfered, where they go, and who their new companion will be. I think that people are going to get moved around a lot this transfer. I was actually kind of surprised that Prez. didn't just send an email.

I would love to poke every one in sight, but in my little white bible it says that I can't because I'm a missionary. So I've had to learn how to expand my poke-reserves. Plus I've found that poking my companion is just not as satisfying as poking Brothers. My companions don't scream like little girls when I poke them. They just give me funny looks. So as you can see, there is no need for them to volunteer such a inconceivable idea.

I'm glad that Jake has covered that department of scaring people as they come around the corner. Maybe he'll even surpass me at it, which I wouldn't mind. I'd be proud of him. Now you just need to get him to do all the other stuff too.

JC's going on a mission now? YAAHOO! I wonder where he'll go... I'm thinking somewhere in South America where he could use his Spanish skillz. or maybe Spain.... This is awesome! I'm way excited for him! what if he comes to New Jersey? that would be cool!

Well times up and I still have one more email to write. gotta go!

Lots of love,

Zack

Missionary News

Hey Mom!

Yes I got the package! Thank you so much! I'm actually wearing one of the shirts you sent me right now! and the cookies are gone already. I'll have to write a letter to Michael and thank him for "keeping me sane".

Good luck with the Sr. Primary! You'll probably have to get on the more creative side to get and keep their attention.

The bathroom looks great! I like the artwork. I think the colors match with the tiles. looks good!

Congratulations! You're Winner! What are you going to do with your prizes? Gonna take Dad out on a 3 day get away? gonna go skiing?

I found out that President is closing Bordentown at the end of this transfer. That means that I'll be transfered somewhere else. I don't know where yet, but I think that I'll find out next week. This area has been kind of tough. Our teaching pool has slowly been shrinking despite all our finding efforts. We had to drop some of our investigators because they wouldn't progress.
Oh and I forgot to tell you that I cut my hair a few weeks ago....BY MY SELF! Well actually, I had to have Elder Davis help me do the back because it was hard to see back there. I think it turned out pretty good. I didn't take any pictures though because I was kind of in a hurry when I did it and then I never thought about it afterwards.
Did I tell you that there was a bomb scare in our apartment complex? We were visiting Sis. Parke who lives a few doors down from us, and we looked out side and we wondered, "hmmmm. I wonder whats going on over there...." Then later, Sis. Phillips-who lives right next door to Sis. Parke- came in and said that there was a guy down on the other side of the complex that had some materials that he could make explosives out of. We weren't really scared because the guy was located more than 200 yards away and there were police between him and us. The next morning we found out that the guy didn't really have any explosive material. It turns out that one of the maintenance men was in there fixing something and he started snooping around and found some stuff that might have looked dangerous and then called the cops. So we weren't in any danger at all. I think that's pretty much all that's new.

Well times about up. Type to ya next week!

Love ya much,

Zack

Awe...!!!

My visiting teacher, Teri, made this for me. She made the words and then stuck them in some hand soap. I thought that was so cool!

Here is my Jake trying to dress like a nerd. Good job Jake!

Lamest Kids Meal Prize

No joke! I got this yesterday from Wendy's in Lehi on 2/29/9. I'm like, "What? Are they throwing their trash in my lunch? Let me know if anyone has gotten a lamer prize. FYI: it is the worst Wendy's I've ever been to. The food is usually aweful. The Wendy's just off the University Parkway exit is the best one I've ever been to. The food is fresh and they are fast and they have never messed up my order.

Finally Done!!!

We finally got the glass in!!! After almost a year in the making, we can finally take a shower in our own bathroom! Woot! Woot! How do you like the cool pictures I put in the bathroom? I took J&J to JCP to use our gift card and other than some shirts, we really couldn't find anything we wanted to buy, so we got these pictures for the bath. On to the next project!

What did you do for Valentine's Day?

So what did you do? Here is a little known fact about the "Sweet" side of the family. We actually have relatives that were born on Valentine's Day, named Valentine Sweet. How very original our ancestors were!

We started the day off with a racquetball game against the Ahlstrom's. They beat us the first two games and then we regrouped and beat them the next three. I love having Dave on my team! He's awesome!

I spent most of the afternoon making a nice dinner for my boys (and when I say "boys", I mean Dave too) and my mom. We had a candlelight dinner with fine linens, crystal goblets and nice music in the background. The food was so good, we didn't have room for dessert, so we had to save it for Sunday. It was nice to have my mom here.
Good times!

NJ News

Hey Mom!

Be careful! It's easy to loose your balance when your on the ball. I learned that the hard way...Thank you in advance for the package! I hope the mail doesn't mistreat it like they did with my last package.

Congratulations on your calling as the Primary Chorister! I don't think you'll have much trouble memorizing all of those primary songs. Didn't you have most of them memorized at some time or other? I kind of miss my guitar. Sometimes there's nothing to do on P-days, so I usually just take a nap.

The weather has started to warm up here. The past few days I've been wearing short sleeve shirts and today I was debating on going without my jacket. I think it's like 60 out today. You don't have to go sledding by yourself. You can take Molly with you!

I'm slowly getting to know the area and members better. We've been doing a lot of tracting mostly since our teaching pool is low. Not much luck so far, but we're still lookin'. My companion's first name is Jared. The bike experience is still ok. my legs are sore almost every day, but its not bad.

Love,
Tha Zacksta

I Won!!

I just got a call from KOZY 106.5 and they said I won a contest for a Valentine Get Away to Wolf Creek Utah! Dave and I get a 2 night stay, 2 passes to Wolf Creek Resort, $100 Dining Certificate, snowshoes and a hose drawn sleigh ride, plus a $200 gift certificate to JC Pennies.
We don't ski anymore so if anyone is interested to 2 passes on the weekend of 2/26 let me know.

Most excellent, awesome news!

I just found out that my brother is coming home from his second tour of duty to Afghanistan by the end of the month, safe and sound! He's been gone a year and we have missed him very much! We love you Rod!

New Calling...for reals.

I was called to be the the Primary Chorister last October, but the person that was leaving didn't end up moving until this next week. I'm sad to leave my cute little class, but I will see them in singing time.

My brother-in-law, Bob came and took one of the cars out of my driveway! I'm doing the happy dance!! Had to make the celebratory Triple Chunk Brownies for that!

Tomorrow I'm getting an estimate to have my shower door installed.... FINALLY! My boys are getting tired of me using their shower. Me too!

More Missionary news

Hey Mom!

NO WAI! I can't believe you actually bought some 4-wheelers! How did you get them home? How are you going to keep them dry? What's the big idea of buying all of this fun stuff after I leave?
You might be able to put them on the side of the house if you can fit them through the gate.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed the Fazookas! I ate some last night for dessert actually. It was mighty tasty! You might also try it with different flavored ice creams and toppings. I've had it with vanilla ice cream and fudge topping and then with mint chocolate chip ice cream and caramel topping. Both were delicious.

Keep practicing spencer!

So lately I've been riding my bike a lot. I think that by the end of my mission, I'll have quads of steel. We don't have very many investigators in this area so lately we've been doing a lot of tracting. We have 4 investigators at the moment. There's Lori, who is the closest to baptism. She has been taught all of the lessons, but she has to come to church 3 times in a row before we can baptize her so we're trying very hard to get her to church. Last Sunday she didn't make it be cause she was sick. Then there is Laura whom I haven't met yet. I guess she doesn't really count since we lost contact with her and we don't know how to regain contact except through her sister who won't return our calls. Then there is Erika(different Erika lol). She's been pretty busy lately but we have an appointment this week. And last but not least, there's Ennette who was a referral from church headquarters. We've taught her about the restoration and we have a return appointment this week to teach about the plan of salvation.
So basically we've just been busy tracting...
OH! and one of the members at church said that there are racket ball courts on the military base. So now I just have to get someone to give us a ride one of these P-days so we can go play...

Well gotta go!

Lots of Love (and hugs[and pokes for Mike]),

Elder Holladay

A Few Friends...LOL

I saw this picture on Nadia's facebook and it amused me!
Which one do you relate too?
